Allegheny Trail Alliance
Amenities on C&O Canal Towpath
|

|
|

|
At Cumberland, the Allegheny Trail Alliance system connects
with the C&O Canal Towpath. The official web site for the
towpath is at the National
Park Service. Four good complementary sites are the Potomac Conservancy, the C&O Canal Association,
Kathy Bilton's Canal
pages, and a biking guide at Urban
ATB. The paved Western
Maryland Rail-Trail now parallels the towpath for 10 miles
from Hancock to Big Pool Maryland.
The FreeWheeling
Easy database of trailside amenities, which supplies
information to the maps on this site, extends onward from
Cumberland down the C&O Canal to Washington DC. For the
convenience of through-travelers, we provide that information
here. Click on the generic amenity symbol for all information
about the corresponding location. See the sites mentioned above
for other information.
Northern section, Cumberland to Williamsport

Southern section, Williamsport to Washington DC
